Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; then drain.
Cooking the Meat Sauce
- In a large pan, cook ground beef and sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Assembling the Lasagna
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, followed by a layer of noodles, and then a layer of the ricotta mixture.
- Add a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, finishing with the remaining meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.
Baking
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for about 3 months. Reheat covered with foil to prevent drying out. For added flavor, consider using fresh minced garlic.
