Preparation
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and pork. Drain any excess grease.
- Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until they soften.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 30 minutes.
Cook the Noodles
- Boil the lasagna noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat.
Mix the Ricotta Filling
- In a bowl, combine ricotta, beaten eggs, and half a cup of Parmesan cheese.
Layering and Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, followed by layers of noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and more meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce and cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest before serving!
Notes
Top with fresh basil for garnish. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread.
