Ingredients
  

For the crumble base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted Use high-quality butter for the best flavor.
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is recommended.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
For the apple filling
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (about 3 medium) Use a mix of apples for better flavor.
  • 0.5 cup salted caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grab a 9x13 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  4. Slowly add flour and stir until you get a crumbly mix.
  5. Press about two-thirds of this mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss your sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg, then spread this mixture over your crust.
  7. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  8. Crumble the remaining mixture over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Let them cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.

Notes

Serve warm with a drizzle of caramel or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge.
