  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted for gluten-free blend.
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For the glaze.
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup For the glaze.
  • to taste Milk To adjust glaze consistency if needed.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar and softened butter until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the maple syrup and egg, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with maple syrup and a little milk to get the desired consistency.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies and let it set before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a tightly sealed bag for up to three months.
