Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce Ingredients
  • 12 oz Lasagna noodles Use regular or no-boil noodles.
  • 1 lb Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or lentils.
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Toasted garlic enhances flavor.
  • 48 oz Marinara sauce Choose your favorite brand.
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper To taste.
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning Adjust according to preference.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and flavor.
Cheese Mixture Ingredients
  • 1 large Egg Helps bind the cheese mixture.
  • 1.5 cups Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese More for extra cheesiness if desired.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a pan, brown the ground beef with the chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and fresh parsley. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and the egg. Mix until creamy.
  5. Shred the mozzarella cheese.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spread a layer of sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Layer with noodles, followed by more sauce, the ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Repeat layers until you run out of ingredients.
  2. For the top layer, add the last noodles, sauce, and remaining cheeses.
  3. Place in a preheated oven at 375°F and bake for about 1 hour, until bubbly and the cheese is melted.

Notes

For best results, use fresh herbs and avoid overcooking the noodles. Lasagna can be assembled the night before and baked the next day.
