  • 1 cup butter, softened Use unsalted for better control of saltiness.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed tightly for better sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup honey Natural sweetener.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature for better mixing.
  • 2 cups rolled oats Old-fashioned oats recommended for chewier texture.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free blend.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth to the flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and honey until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  4. Stir in the oats, flour, baking soda, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them well.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  3. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze with parchment paper between layers.
