Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place three noodles on top, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the mozzarella, and one-third of the meat sauce.
- Repeat the layers, ending with noodles, remaining meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
To enhance the flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes or fresh herbs. Let the lasagna rest before serving for cleaner slices.
