  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles Regular or no-boil noodles can be used.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade.
Cheeses
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese Mix with an egg for creaminess.
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese For layering and topping.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Sprinkled on top for extra flavor.
Meat
  • 1 pound ground beef Browning adds depth to flavor.
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Enhances the flavor profile.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Layering and Baking
  1. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, then a layer of noodles, a layer of ricotta cheese, and a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  2. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella cheese on top.
  3. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  4. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, let the lasagna sit before cutting for perfect slices. Pair with garlic bread and salad for a complete meal. Can be made ahead and frozen.
