  • 1 cup grated apple
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Maple syrup can be used for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or raisins (optional)

Method
 

Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, grated apple, applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well mixed.
  3. If desired, fold in chopped nuts or raisins.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, toast the oats lightly before mixing. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
