Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, grated apple, applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well mixed.
- If desired, fold in chopped nuts or raisins.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For a crunchier texture, toast the oats lightly before mixing. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
