Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature Room temperature is key for creaming.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet) Feel free to add extra for a chocolate overload.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla and eggs until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers look soft.
  2. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, store them in the fridge. For longer storage, freeze them tightly wrapped.
