Green Beans
  • 4 cans (14.5-ounce) 4 (14.5-ounce) cans green beans, drained Canned green beans work best for this recipe.
Bacon
  • 8 slices 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (about 6 oz) Cook until crispy for added flavor.
Glaze
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Melted for easier mixing.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed Adds sweetness to balance the savory ingredients.
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari) Can substitute with coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For extra heat and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet until it’s crispy and then drain on paper towels. Crumble the bacon and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Whisk in the brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Toss the drained green beans in the baking dish, pour the glaze over them, and mix well. Top with crumbled bacon and optional red pepper flakes.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbling and slightly thickened.
  2. Toss gently and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For variation, you can add sliced almonds or walnuts for added crunch. Cheese options like colby jack or cheddar can also enhance the flavor!
