Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Parmesan cheese for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot of boiling salted water, blanch the green beans for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the garlic oil.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the green beans and stir until melted.
  4. Remove from heat and serve immediately, topped with optional Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Blanching is crucial for keeping beans bright and crunchy. Experiment with different cheeses for variations. Adding a squeeze of lemon juice can enhance the flavor.
