Ingredients
  

Meat Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves Minced
  • 28 oz Crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Basil
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
Béchamel Sauce Ingredients
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
Assembly Ingredients
  • 9 sheets Lasagne sheets
  • 1 cup Grated cheese (e.g., Parmesan or mozzarella) For topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for about 30 minutes.
  5. In a separate saucepan, make béchamel sauce by melting butter, adding flour, and gradually whisking in milk until thickened. Add a pinch of nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Assembly and Baking
  1. In a baking dish, layer lasagne sheets, a layer of the meat sauce, a layer of béchamel, and grated cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with béchamel and cheese on top.
  2. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  3. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
