Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onion, carrot, celery, and garlic until soft.
- Add ground beef and pork sausage; cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, canned tomatoes, red wine, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for at least 30 minutes.
Béchamel Sauce
- Melt butter in a saucepan, then stir in flour and cook for a few minutes.
- Gradually add milk, whisking until thickened. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- In a baking dish, layer lasagna noodles, Bolognese sauce, béchamel sauce, and cheeses.
- Repeat the layers and finish with béchamel and cheese on top.
Baking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Allow to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Pair with a fresh side salad or garlic bread for crunch, and a splash of red wine for an added touch.
