Ingredients

Apple Filling
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced Use firm apples like Granny Smith for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted for cooking the apples.
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Can substitute with all-purpose flour.
  • 2 tablespoons water Used to make the cornstarch slurry.
Biscuit Dough
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
Coating
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted For coating the bomb before baking.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar For the cinnamon sugar coating.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon For the cinnamon sugar coating.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples begin to soften.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Add the slurry to the apple mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Separate the biscuit dough into individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit to about 1/4-inch thickness with your hands or a rolling pin.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the apple filling in the center of each biscuit. Fold and pinch the edges together to seal, ensuring no gaps for the filling.
  6. Dip each dough ball into the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated. Place seam-side down on the prepared sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Let them cool for a few minutes before diving in. Enjoy them warm for maximum yumminess.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For best results, serve warm, and consider drizzling with caramel sauce or adding a scoop of ice cream!
