Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • as needed Nonstick cooking spray

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel (optional) and cut your apples into fry-like sticks.
  2. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Coating Setup
  1. Bowl 1: Add flour.
  2. Bowl 2: Whisk egg and milk together.
  3. Bowl 3: Mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
Coat the Apples
  1. Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip it into the egg mixture, and coat well with the breadcrumb mixture.
Air Frying
  1. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray.
  2. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
Cooking
  1. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Serving
  1. Enjoy warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream!

Notes

Choose your apples wisely: Honeycrisp and Granny Smith apples are your best friends for sweetness and texture. Don't skip the pat dry; moisture is the enemy of crisp. You can prep and coat the apples ahead of time. For variations, try adding nutmeg or using flaxseed meal for a vegan option.
